Here in Kent in the UK, we don't often see snow or that picturesque winter weather but wrapping up and gettin g outside can still add some festive magic. There are lots of parks and places around Kent and the South - east you could use. It doesn't have to be any where crazy - Just somewhere with some wintry trees.

If you’re shooting in the evening, fairy lights can create a stunning atmosphere. For outdoor settings, you could plan your shoot during the "golden hour," which is about an hour after sunrise or an hour before sunset—this is when the light is softest and most flattering.

These natural moments capture the season's joy better than any posed shot can. Don’t be afraid to snap lots of photos while letting everyone interact freely. Something I always look to catch during a session are those 'in between moments'. For example I might give a prompt like "look at who ever snores the loudest" (or something silly the kids will enjoy) and then I'm looking to capture the moments after that where everyone is giggling and interacting.

Editing your photos can elevate them to the next level. Even our phones now days have editing tools built in and there are lots of fun and free apps you could use to add some extra festive joy to your photos.
